About us

RJT Pennant Ltd, W J Harte Construction Ltd and RJT Excavations Ltd., are all wholly owned subsidiaries of the Harte Group of companies.

W J Harte Construction Ltd. has traded as civil engineering contractors since 1974 carrying out general civil engineering projects for public and private clients.

In May 2003 W J Harte Construction Ltd acquired Pennant Plant and Pennant Civil Engineering from the Miller Group, and in October 2007 the Harte Group acquired RJT Excavations Ltd a family owned company.

Pennant Plant and Pennant Civil Engineering have traded as divisions of W J Harte Construction Ltd since acquisition to 2009. RJT Excavations Ltd has continued to trade as a fellow subsidiary company since its acquisition to the present time.

The Group decided to rationalise the various contracting functions within the group, and as a result of this reorganisation, RJT Pennant Ltd. was formed on the 1^st of June 2009 by the transfer of all of the business, including staff and operatives, of Pennant Civil Engineering (a trading division of W J Harte Construction Ltd.) and the civil engineering activities, including staff and operatives of RJT Excavations Ltd.

RJT Pennant Ltd., carry out public and private sector civil engineering works including, social housing, waste and clean water related works, motorway maintenance, rail related civil engineering works and marine works.

Company Systems

RJT Pennant Ltd., have well established procedures that are accredited to ensure we manage our work activities to nationally recognised standards;

Quality Management System, including Health and Safety complaint with ISO 9001:2008, UKAS accredited.
Environmental Management System compliant with ISO 14001:2004. UKAS accredited.

Each of our site managers has passed the 5 day CITB Safety Course and are trained to SVQ level 4 or higher. All our managers and operatives have attained the relevant CSCS and CPCS skills cards for the tasks they perform.

Our Health, Safety and Training Officer is employed by the Group and we have access to the CITB accredited training centre operated by our sister company RJT Excavations Ltd., enabling us to react quickly and efficiently to the changing requirements and needs of our industry.
